As per Articles of Association of the Club Temporary, Honorary, Visiting Members and Permanent Membership for the Widow of a Member shall not be entitled to receive notice of or to attend or vote at any General Meeting of the Club, or to be elected Members of the Managing Committee of the Club, or any Sub-Committee of the Club

The Chelmsford Club was founded in 1917-18.
Chelmsford Club was raised on 27th July, 1928 on a Lease Deed signed between the Secretary of State for India and Chelmsford Club Limited. This Lease Deed was signed by Mr. P. Mukherjee, the then Joint Honorary Secretary, Chelmsford Club Ltd and Mr. JNE Johnson. C.I.E, I.C.S., Chief Commissioner of Delhi by the order and directions of the Governor General of India in Council outing in the premises for and on behalf of the Secretary of State of India.
